When we look at emerging data, some very interesting information already pops out.
Almost exactly 50% of all monkey/human conflicts arise from human initiated aggression.
Factoring in 12.5% of the observations had no conflict involved, it shows that 37.5% of conflicts come from macaque behavior.
These are early numbers, based on 10 observations (20 hours), so, the true picture may change more in time.
Still, it's interesting to see what the data shows currently.
The chart below shows the documented conflicts by type. A conflict is defined here as any interaction between macaques and humans that results in a marked reaction of fear, aggression, flight or anger.
After I complete another 10 observations I will update the data chart and post the cumulative results.
