NJMM Survey and the future

After a last-minute reprieve, Troop Bravo was spared from translocation and the trapping operations ended with the release of all monkeys, healthy and none the worse for wear.

There are many wonderful and exciting developments that came from the uncertainty surrounding the desire to trap and remove the troop.

First, it's put a serious spotlight on the issue of monkey and human cohabitation. Many animal rescue and welfare groups became the champions for the macaques. Those groups are now working with local and regional government to find equitable methods in managing the monkey population, while ensuring public safety.
